The Problem

We see youth that have nowhere to go, no safe shelter to reside, and no family they can return to without the risk of abuse, or foster children with no permanent homes who are placed in state run group homes—including foster youth who have endured the horror of being abused or sexually exploited.

These children have no place to celebrate holidays or birthdays. No family to advocate for them should they become ill or hospitalized. Further, group homes experience extremely high turnover rates as youth are transferred in-and-out of the county. Without a safe home, there is no security for these children—many have suffered from complex trauma. As a result, they run away, often, opting for the streets rather than to stay in their current situation.

The Truth About Complex Trauma

Forever Found’s Freedom Ranch is a working ranch in Moorpark, California designed to provide a beautiful place of healing for exploited and trafficked youth and a beacon of hope and healing.

A place to belong.  A place to call home.

Freedom Ranch

Freedom Ranch will provide a safe place for all Forever Found youth, who have experienced severe trauma and need a place to stabilize. It provides safe low barrier housing for at risk and exploited youth. A place of solace and beauty to rest and revel in nature.  A place with animals and art, with staff and volunteers who love God, love their work, and love these youth.

Since 2015, Forever Found has a proven track record of restoring children who have been exploited in Ventura County. Freedom Ranch represents the next vital step: creating a safe, stable, long-term and loving environment where these children can truly heal from complex trauma, rediscover their worth, and envision a future filled with purpose. With its holistic approach to care, Freedom Ranch will provide a safe place for mentorship, animal and art therapies, and more. ​

Freedom Ranch fills a glaring and essential gap in services for trafficked youth who deeply want help and need more than emergency care or placement; they need a safe place to build positive memories and heal.  ​

Freedom Ranch will become the home to all of Forever Found’s holistic therapies. Therapies such as art, equine, gardening, music, Bible studies as well as many others. It will be a place where the church can serve, and impact Forever Found youth through volunteer support and mentorship.
